Jammu. The terrorists attacked CRPF personnel with grenades in Srinagar with the intention of spreading terror and harming the security forces but they could not succeed. However, on the other hand, the security forces succeeded in capturing the Congress leader, who is accused of helping to drive away the terrorists.
Militants hurled grenades at CRPF camp in Noorbagh area of Srinagar on Friday. police gave this information. He said that no casualties were reported in this attack. A police officer said that the terrorists threw grenades into the camp at 6.40 am. The grenade exploded outside the camp.
On the other hand, the police arrested Congress leader Gauhar Ahmed Wani on Thursday evening on charges of fleeing terrorists in Shopian district. According to reports, the police had received information that Gauhar Ahmad Wani had helped to drive away the terrorists. After which the police arrested Gauhar Wani, a member of Congress on 7 December, after which he was questioned.
Police arrested accused Gauhar Ahmad Wani late Thursday evening after an investigation into the case. Police and other security agency can interrogate Gauhar Ahmed Wani. However, the police have informed of arresting only Congress member Gauhar Ahmed Wani in this case.
A lawyer by profession, Congress leader Gauhar Ahmad Wani is a resident of Imam Sahab Shopian in South Kashmir. He was caught fleeing the terrorists on 7 December. In fact, some terrorists were traveling in a car and when 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army stopped them at Baba Khader Rampura Chowk in the Treas area, the terrorists fled and left the car near Paragachu.
The terrorists fled the car after being chased by security forces, while Gauhar Wani jumped from the car and pretended to be a victim. Gauhar was later detained and questioned. Police has registered a case under UAPA in this regard.
Officials said that Congress leader Wani was giving shelter to the terrorists and providing them means of transport in the union territory. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, he was working as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) for terrorist organizations and defending the terrorists. On the day of the incident, the Congress leader was driving away terrorists from the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist organization
